USM – Timeless Modular Furniture from Switzerland

Founded in 1885 by Ulrich Schärer in Münsingen, Switzerland, USM has become a global reference in modular furniture design. In the 1960s, under the leadership of Paul Schärer Jr., and in collaboration with architect Fritz Haller, the iconic USM Haller system was developed. Its chrome-plated steel tubes, connecting spheres, and colored panels offer fully customizable solutions.

In 2001, MoMA New York included the USM Haller system in its permanent collection, recognizing it as a modern design icon.

Today, USM continues to offer long-lasting, sustainable furniture solutions that combine function and elegance for both home and office spaces.
